St Leonards Holistic Dental Care has been using Bowen Therapy since 1992 as part of our treatment for patients suffering from headaches, neck pain, back pain and jaw pain. As such, Charlotte will thoroughly assess your individual history and recommend Bowen Therapy if she feels it will assist you. Bowen Therapy is a gentle and highly effective way of maintaining body balance.
Bowtech is a non-invasive technique that allows the body to reset and heal itself. A Bowtech session consists of a series of gently moves on skin (or through light clothing), with the client usually lying on a bed or treatment couch. A session lasts from half an hour to an hour and frequently results in a deep sense of overall relaxation, allowing the body to recharge and balance itself.
Bowtech is not necessarily a 'long-term' program. Most clients find that a small number of sessions are adequate even for long-standing complaints. The treatment consists of a series of gently rolling connective tissue moves that stimulate energy flow. There are frequent important pauses between these moves that give the body time to benefit from each set.
Bowtech is holistic and is an important tool to facilitate healing of the whole body. The moves bring about results by penetrating to a deep cellular level, incorporating the body's unique ability to heal itself.
Bowtech is safe to use for any ailment on patients of all ages, from newborn to the elderly, and for everyone from highly trained athletes to pregnant women.
Thomas A. Bowen (1916-1982) developed this technique in Geelong, Victoria. After serving in World War 2, he became interested in ways to alleviate human suffering and began to notice that certain moves applied to the body had particular effects. In 1974 he was treating 13,000 people in a year, with 80-90%of these responding favourably after only one or two treatments.
